TRI Coldwell BankerThe Van Ness office of Coldwell Banker Northern California (known as “TRI”) is the company’s premier office in the Bay Area. For each of the last 10 years it has ranked in the top three for highest volume of Coldwell Banker’s over 1200 offices nationwide. The annual sales volume in 2004, 2005 and 2006 is over 3.7 billion dollars. TRI completed approximately $1.125BBN in sales in 2008. TRI is the only San Francisco residential sales office to continually exceed $1 billion in sales annually, making it one of the most productive real estate offices in the United States. Coldwell Banker is #1 in terms sales in San Francisco, with a 17% market share of all single family homes sold in 2009 – more than 50% greater than the sales of the next most active company during this time period.

Coldwell Banker has over 400 agents in San Francisco alone, over double that of Pacific Union, the next largest company. CB has four offices in San Francisco, nine on the Peninsula and 40 in total throughout the Bay Area. Additionally, CB has offices in every major city in the US and in most European countries, throughout the Middle East and in Central and South America. There are a total of 3700 offices nationwide.

The Van Ness office finds its unique roots in TRI Real Estate, a company formed in the early 1980’s by a collection of broker/owners. The office evolved over time to its present size of 100 agents. In the early nineties the residential and commercial business components of the original company were split and the residential division was sold to Prudential, and then again a few years later to Jon Douglas. Coldwell Banker acquired Jon Douglas and the Van Ness office in September 1997, and the office has consistently performed at the highest level of the company’s 80 Northern California offices. The office has a commercial group, a rental department, and a new construction group which serves SOMA and other developing areas of the City.

The office’s preeminent success is attributable to a number of components. The average tenure in the business for a Van Ness office agent is over twenty years. That type of experience is accompanied with finely honed professionalism, knowledge, skill, integrity, credibility and a highly regarded clientele. The interaction of 100 agents with such attributes generates an exciting, successful environment.
